I stole a sucker
Was a small cherry sucker
It cost one penny
Way less than my tennies
I wanted it bad
And would be sad
If I didn’t have my penny sucker
It stole it and hid it
Hid it in my coat pocket
And after supper
I asked for it
She wondered why
I was a bit shy
And finally told
I got a scold
Dad made me take it back
So I went back
To the store where
I stole the sucker
Mr. Hickerson was kind
He didn’t seem to mind
But Dad was mad
He wanted to teach this lad
So I left the store
And stole no more
