I'm into Christmas

I’m Into Christmas
© 2018 by P Michael Biggs

I’m into Christmas.
I love the fuss
and muss,
the lights at night,
and the whole Christmas thing.

The music pleases me,
the trees delight me,
I drink coffee and tea
When it’s ten degrees
I like the whole Christmas thing

The gifts delight,
I love the colorful lights.
Hope takes flight
in the middle of the quiet.
I like the whole Christmas thing

Joy is always near.
We are all full of cheer.
Can you hear
the tiny hooves of reindeer?
I like the whole Christmas thing

I’m a kid at heart
It’s like a restart
I’ll play my part
I’m not an old f--t
I like the whole Christmas thing

The Pie

The Pie
© 2018 by P Michael Biggs

In my kitchen, there’s a pie.
Oh my, oh my.
However, it is not a pie
for which to die.

It’s good, it’s semi-sweet,
And no, it’s not made of beets.
though that would be a feat
but a lousy sweet treat.

It’s pumpkin,
not dumpling,
it’s made by Mr. Lumpkin
who has a munchkin
named Rumkin.

This poem must end
before I offend.
Can you comprehend
how hard to pretend
I am a poet
and don’t know it?

We Spent the Day Doing Nothing

We Spent the Day Doing Nothing
© 2018 by P Michael Biggs

We spent the day doing nothing,
and it was something else.
We did church,
we ate, we drove,
we shopped, we strolled,
we held hands.

We did nothing much,
and it was everything we wanted.

We laughed, we talked,
we separated for an hour,
and then were back together.
We didn’t do much of nothing.
We just did the next thing that came along.

When can we do nothing again?
