Give Up?  Never

Life gets hard.

I know.

And we keep going.

We keep moving.

We keep doing the things

that call to us,

the tasks that

become our mission.

I saw a post that sparked

this idea.

“Coca-Cola only sold

25 bottles

the first year.”

I’m way more valuable

than Coke.

And so are you.

Coke is colored fizzy water.

You and I are living,

breathing bundles of

human potential.

If and when we set our minds,

and it is a good and worthy pursuit,

we can make it happen.

Hard times come – and go.

And we persist.

We strive.

We keep working.

We don’t give up.

I’m getting what I wanted from life.

I can call myself beloved.

I can feel this love.

CB for one, my step-kids

and grandkids, for others.

My siblings, some of my readers.

What a moment.

To bask in the love and esteem

that others cast your way.

What a rare and lovely thing to know.

I leave home in ten minutes.

Where will I go?

Where will I roam?

Will I speak with kindness?

Will I smile with sincerity?

Will I do anything significantly

With my time and talents today?

Eight months ago today

I didn’t know if I’d be here.

I had surgery.

Today, life’s blood flows thru me.

I’m in my right mind,

I’m alive and getting better.

So thankful I lived to see this day,

and have these adventures today.

I do not take this day for granted.

It is a beautiful gift,

And I am thankful.
