Where Are You Christmas
© 2018 by P Michael Biggs
Where are you Christmas?
Are you in what I drink?
Are you in the burned-out light
on my tree, I think?
Are you in the neck tie,
Or the sox too large?
Are you in the stores
where they add a surcharge?
Are you hiding in boxes
under my tree?
Do I hear you singing
with gusto and glee?
Where are you Christmas?
I want to know.
Do I hear you speaking
with every Ho Ho Ho?
Where are you Christmas?
Please come near.
We want to greet you,
We want to cheer.
Where are you Christmas
on Christmas morn?
Alas, we have found you,
for a baby has been born.
There’s more that seizes us
at Christmas time.
Good news, joyful sounds
as each bell chimes.
We thank you Christmas
for the love you bestow.
It’s for every woman and man,
every Mary, Jose and Joe.
