The Uncertain Certainty

What don’t you know?

And how do you know

what you don’t know?

Some say we should

embrace uncertainty.

Uncertainty doesn’t have a title

until perhaps later.

Oh, but what we learn in

our uncertain moments.

We strengthen our ‘can do’.

We prove once again

We CAN!

And when we unlock ‘uncertain’

what a grand day that becomes.

To do the unthinkable,

to go where we’ve never dared go,

to turn uncertainty into possible.

I like that very much.

Dream something exhilarating,

Something larger than life,

Something you’ve always wanted,

yet never felt you deserved.

From your life, build something,

Something we’ve never seen,

Something important, fun, enlightening,

Something beautiful and inspiring.

You have years to live … do something.

Do the outrageous, do the obscure,

Do the challenging,

Do the old in a new way

Read some great books,

Hold the hand of someone you cherish,

even a parent or grandparent.

Savor the small moments;

That’s where the gold is found.

Sing even if you can’t.

It’s the expression of your soul.

Make something up, paint, draw,

build, explore.

Do the work that makes your heart happy.

Delight yourself.  Surprise yourself.

Expand your horizons to include new ventures.

Invent a new version of YOU!

I Love Morning

I love morning.

The quiet is deafening.

How odd is that?

No one stirs,

No noise to distract.

Only the occasional auto

passing by my window

Sleep abandoned me today,

so I rushed to my quiet place.

This space, this time, this opportunity

is rare and beautiful.

It is the best part of my day.

And now, what will I make of it?

What ideas, what hints of good hope

lie in the shadows of this morning?

Can I write some life-altering thought

that will make a difference?

Can I help some one person

begin a new journey today?

That is my one objective.

That is my calling …

To offer hope,

encouragement ..

inspiration ..

one word at a time.

May you find your

quiet space and place.

There is gold lurking in these shadows.
