I’m
Abandonin' My Faults
© 2018 by P Michael Biggs
I’m abandoning my faults.
They do me no good.
They cling, they trip me up,
they sting, and stink,
they foul the water.
I’m abandonin' my faults.
It is not a fearful thing.
I will not miss them.
I’m just cuttin' my loses
and findin' new ventures
and adventures.
I’m abandonin' my faults.
I never meant to have faults.
They just sort of cling
and follow, and hold on
long after the fault.
No more.
I’ve been learnin’
and growin’
and movin’
and shakin’
and these faults
are droppin' like flies.
I’m makin’ room for
some more faults.
