If I Could

If I could write
a lovely song,
I would.
If I could cure cancer,
I would.
If I could heal all hurts,
I would.
If I could bring about
world peace,
I would.
So, what exactly can I do?
I can do what I do best.
Encourage, sing,
write words of hope,
and make friends of
new acquaintances.
I can pray for you.
I can offer you a glimpse of sunlight.
I can do my best with what I have
and perhaps, some of that will
spill over onto your life.
I can be a
good version of me.
I hope you like
what that looks like.
